Peanuts Sales

The Scott County Shrine Club Peanut Sales is an annual event coming just ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday. Started many years ago by members of the High Plains Shrine Club in Lakin, this event has moved to our club and has grown. Members travel to eastern New Mexico to purchase fresh, new crop peanuts in several differing styles (salted, flavored, etc.), bringing these delicacies back to our area for your enjoyment. Advertisements will appear in early October and delivery is planned prior to Thanksgiving each year. Should you be interested, be sure to contact us to place your fall order. Delivery will be arranged and your enjoyment is guaranteed.

Onion Sales

This summer time event strives to provide our area with fresh, sweet, Vidalia onions for your pleasure. This fundraiser usually occurs in early summer.  So, if you enjoy Vidalia onions, contact a Shrine member, or use the “Contact Us” tab on this website to arrange for your purchase and delivery of these sweet Vidalia onions.

Circus Trip

This late spring activity is a large undertaking.  Our goal is to provide a trip to the Shrine Circus in Salina to all Fourth Graders in all the schools in our service area.  We seek out donations from area businesses and individuals to cover the expenses of this trip. In 2019, this trip was enjoyed by 132 children, and 39 adults and sponsors.  The trip involves multitudes of school buses, two meals, one t-shirt, many road miles, and lifetime memories for those attending. All of the trip is provided free of charge to each student.  Anyone wishing to donated towards this large event is encouraged to contact the Shrine Club.

Bingo

The Scott County Shrine Club has provided Bingo for fairgoers attending the Wichita County Fair for many years. With the large cost of $0.25 per game, anyone can afford to play and have a chance to win. While the younger fairgoers are riding the Wichita County Amusement Associations $ 0.25 rides, adults and kids of all ages can relax in the shade and play Bingo.  All money raised is used to provide assistance for the families going to the Shrine Hospitals.

Cotton Candy

The Scott County Shrine Club is able and willing to provide Cotton Candy at fair events, school activities, etc. While at the fairs, this activity is used as a fund raiser for families attending Shrine Hospitals. Our Shrine members enjoy offering the old style goodness of cotton candy to one and all.
